Many people assume that when a product is concentrated or smaller, they are paying more for less. This is not the purpose of our concentrated formulas. When Tide designs a more concentrated formula, the goal is to make the formula more condensed and the packaging smaller while ensuring the same level of cleaning power you trust. This is true innovation, and it enables us to conserve resources effectively.

How Does Tide Do This?

Simply put, a concentrated formula gives you more active ingredients per dose in a smaller package without sacrificing cleaning power. This means that the cleaning power of Tide is stronger in each compact detergent dose than in previous formulas, which required larger doses. To achieve this, we re-formulate the cleaning ingredients to ensure they perform more efficiently than they did before.

Why Does Tide Do This?

The key reason we're committed to offering more concentrated formulas (from powders to liquids to Tide PODS®) is to reduce our overall environmental impact.

  • Concentrated detergents can deliver the same number of loads in smaller, lighter package sizes.

One Tide PODS Works as Hard as a Larger Dose of Tide Original Liquid

Tide PODS® offer the most compact form of Tide concentrated detergent. When Tide PODS® launched in 2012, a single, 24 ml laundry pac contained the same cleaning power of 43 ml of Tide Original Liquid (a medium load dose).

Today's Tide PODS® can handle more loads of laundry with a smaller volume of product than Tide Liquid. Like most Tide Liquids, Tide PODS® are an HE detergent, suitable for use in high-efficiency and regular machines, alike.
