Tide Plus Febreze Freshness Liquid Laundry Detergent

I can't stand the fake scent, it's a sickly perfume. The trouble is, I can't get rid of the smell. We bought an RV, with a good mattress with an otherwise reasonable mattress pad, but the mattress pad reeks of Tide Febreeze. I've tried sanitizer in the final rinse, vinegar and baking soda, odoban, other laundry boosters, and I thought maybe it was cleared when I took it out of the dryer and it smelled like my laundry. Then I saw a dirt mark, scratched it off, and the small came back! It's just stuck in it, waiting for movement to release itself again. This isn't the first item I've encountered that has been skunked by this stuff. Pre-owned clothing too, has come with it. Why does fresh have to be perfumey? Also... If people need freshness to last 12 WEEKS, maybe they just need to do the laundry?? The price is a con, because no way would I pay to ruin my clothes.

I love this product and would love to have the more environmentally friendly, no water, no plastic bottle version available.

This scent is everywhere. Between the toxic fragrance plus the additional Febreeze, this smell lingers everywhere. Neurotoxins. I can't believe how many people use this. It's horrible. Please stop making it.
