Awful Scent
StarStarStarStarStar1/5

My family has used Tide powder as long as I can remember (I'm 57 years old), and I've always used it myself. A few years ago, the Original scent was changed. It is awful - gave me an instant migraine, and made my clothes smell after washing (somehow they smelled worse than before washing). In reading reviews online, I learned that the Mountain Spring scent was basically the same as the "old" Original scent. I was so happy to discover this, and I've used the Mountain Spring scent for several years now. I always purchased at Walmart, however, when I needed to restock in April, 2026, my Walmart no longer carried the Mountain Spring scent, so I had to order from Amazon. Fast forward to today, and I went to repurchase from Amazon, and now I see that this scent has been discontinued. P

Always Powder!

I despise liquid detergent! It’s messy, the container leaks, and it’s a huge plastic jug. I LOVE Tide powder that I buy at Costco. It works great and comes in a cardboard box. No mess. BTW, you are sorely mistaken if you think you can make up for the huge plastic jug by putting it in the recycle bin. Most things are not actually recycled.

You’re almost there with the scent

Yeh let’s face it, Tide is the best quality laundry detergent out there. Ten out of ten for cleaning. Smells really pleasant out of the box and while washing. Sadly the only fragrance note leftover on clothes is a strange woodsy note. Tweak the fragrance and tone down that particular fragrance ingredient (or eliminate it), and the scent will be 10/10 as well.
