Powder doesn't dissolve as claimed
StarStarStarStarStar3/5

After using Tide Liquid for decades, I saw a promotion of Tide Ultra OXI Powder detergent, so I thought I would give it a try. It states right on the box, "Clean Dissolve," implying that it dissolves readily and completely, but this is NOT the case. Even in warm water, I was left with undissolved powder residue on my clothes, requiring me to re-rinse items by hand to get rid of the powder. Very disappointed. I even tried helping to get the powder dissolved at the start of the wash by swishing the water around swishing warm water through the measuring cup with the detergent in it--to no avail. I will never buy this again--going back to old reliable Tide Liquid.

We are truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with Tide Ultra OXI Powder Laundry Detergent. As a loyal Tide Liquid user for decades, we deeply appreciate you giving our new product a try, and we are sincerely sorry that it did not meet your expectations. Your satisfaction is incredibly important to us, and we are disheartened to learn that you encountered undissolved powder residue on your clothes, even after trying to assist the dissolving process. We understand your frustration and regret that this product did not perform as expected. We would be very grateful if you would consider speaking with us directly so we can learn more about your specific washing conditions and assist you further. Please contact us at 1-800-879-8433. Clothes don't smell fresh
StarStarStarStarStar3/5

This detergent seems to do a decent job at cleaning, as long as you pre-treat stains, and in my experience it does dissolve/work in cold water. BUT, and this is a deal breaker for me, it leaves a weird, unpleasant smell after my clothes are dry. They do not smell fresh. They smell like they were washed in stale river water. Needless to say I won't be buying this again, and don't recommend it.

The Tide Team
We're really sorry to hear you had this experience with our Tide Ultra OXI Powder Laundry Detergent. It must upsetting that the liquid left a weird smell on your clothing. We understand scent is very subjective, and we appreciate you providing us with this feedback, but this is definitely not the type of experience we want you to go through. To remove odors, rewash clothes using the hottest water safe for the fabric, with the recommended detergent and fabric softener, and use bleach if safe for the item. Check your machine’s manual for cleaning or service wash instructions. To prevent odors, clean your machine monthly with a Washing Machine Cleaner, avoid overloading, wash smaller loads (especially heavy items), use the proper detergent amount, and wash with the hottest water safe for your clothes. Remove clothes promptly after washing and drying, keep the washer door open between uses to air out, pre-treat stains for up to 30 minutes, wait until fabrics are fully dry before storing, and avoid line-drying in high humidity. Please feel free to contact us at (800) 879-8433 so we can learn more about this situation and take care of you. Your satisfaction is highly important for us at Tide.

amazing for blood stains
StarStarStarStarStar5/5

I underwent neck surgery and bled a fair amount onto my pillow cases afterward. --one pink, one white. Two weeks later, I soaked them in COLD water for an hour (to avoid "setting" the stain), then washed with hot water and ultra oxy in a front-loading washer. The stains are totally, and I mean totally, gone. The powder, especially in larger sizes, is cheaper than the liquids, and dissolved just fine in my washer. When price shopping, make sure you're looking for the "ultra oxy" version, which is what I used.
