Tide Plus A Touch of Downy Liquid Laundry Detergent

I was having a very big problem with dog hair sticking to my clothing and I was beginning to think that the detergent was not getting my clothes clean or floating the dirt away well and I'm a big believer in easy natural detergents well unfortunately I had to switch to something else so I was at Dollar tree and I saw some Tide with Downy in it I grabbed a little bottle I washed my blankets in different things with it and voila no dog hair but also I also got the unscented bounce dryer sheets which I do think is made by the same company I'm allergic to a lot of sense but I double rinse my clothes from my laundry detergent so there's really no residue I don't even smell any kind of a soapy soapy smell or anything in the clothes they just smelled really super clean when they came out of the washer and I threw them in the dryer and there's no smell on them at all and I'm highly allergic to laundry detergent but like I said I use a double rinse so if you have dogs I recommend this detergent

I have used Tide with Downy since it came out! The Alril Fresh is smelling like a forest! Smells terrible! So strong! Did you change it?

Sorry but this Tide plus with Downy stinks! By all rights the company owes us a big SORRY!! How can you do this it’s terrible! Shame on you. We had to run two rinse cycles still! Stinks! We’ve been Tide customers for ever we’re in our 70s and we will continue to use regular Tide just not downy tide. What is the company going to do about the stink! lol😄

Tide is the best laundry soap. I have 3 kids 2 grandkids and my husband I was clothes for and with so much laundry I do I tried a cheaper brand but my clothes were not getting clean having to sometimes wash the load again.I love this Tide with Downey in it saves me money on buying fabric softener and makes my clothes smell so fresh and also keeps that smell for awhile while being in my closet. The smell is not a overwhelming smell as some smells gives me a headache and the April fresh is perfect amount! No reason to use anything other then tide. As my Mom taught me from me being a child Tide is the best and there is nothing that works better and she was right! Thank you tide for keeping my families clothes clean and smelling good!

Used for decades since a child and its smell is amazing! Even better with the added touch! Perfect for me and don’t need to buy laundry perfume it smells so beautiful. Keep to the instructions per dose unless you like a stronger scent! Fab cleaning and softness to, thankyou it’s the best.

This has been the ONLY detergent I’ve been buying for as long as I can remember. I’m a cancer patient with incredibly sensitive skin, whatever change you made gives me a headache because the smell is so strong and caused my skin to break out. Anytime things change you should be required to put it on the bottle!! I have enough to worry about in my life, now I have to deal with this because of an unnecessary formula change! You lost me as a very long time customer…

I have used this detergent for as long as I can remember. The most recent bottle I purchased definitively smells different. If you didn’t change your formula, as you’ve stated in other review feedback, something went wrong in the production process. It’s awful. In fact, it is so irritating as a smell, it causes my eyes to water and induces sneezing. You may need to issue a recall.

My skin had a really bad reaction to this laundry detergent and I ALWAYS use tide ! I don’t know what happened

This is the second Tide scent that I’ve tried that has changed formulas to a painful to inhale migraine inducing sent. The smell is so overwhelming that it is all-encompassing, and all I can think about while wearing the clothes. I am so incredibly disappointed and I’m not sure what detergent to turn to now. I’ve been a Tide customer for 30 years.

Like many others, I too do not like the smell of this tide anymore. When I stopped smoking, 25 years ago, my gift to myself was to buy Tide and make my clothes smell wonderful. This new scent is a very harsh smell. I do hope and pray that you will return the original scent.

I just tried Tide w/Downy for the first time and LOVE it! My clothes came out very clean and smell amazing! I will continue to purchase it! Thank you for making this wonderful product!

The new formula for Tide Downy smells awful. This was my go-to detergent for years and I would buy it even when it was more expensive than other brands––but I won't be repurchasing.

I used to love using tide with downy. I stopped for awhile because of cost and finally went back because I loved the smell. I realized the color and consistency has changed, along with the smell. It doesn’t leave any downy scent anymore. I will not be buying this anymore once I am done with this bottle. Back to gain I go!

I noticed my clothes coming out with pink spots and thought maybe it was just a marker but after a lot of investigating and ruined clothes it was this product that dyed my clothes. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I have switched to a different detergent and not had anything turn pink.

I cannot believe they changed the scent of Tide w/ Downy April Fresh!! I used it for years and was so blindsided by this new scent. Now I don’t have a go to detergent. The new version smells terrible. I would use the original or bleach alternative scents as I liked those as well, but they changed those too! Smh, I don’t useTide at all now. I tried the Tide w/ Downy powder after reading the reviews of the other many unsatisfied customers, and someone gave a heads up that it still has the former scent. It does but it’s not the same as the liquid. While the scent is the original it’s a little weaker and doesn’t seem to clean as well. Why change a good thing??

I just received this as a gift . My question to the tide staff is this made for the front load washers because I don’t see (HE) on the front. Please get back to me as soon as possible before I use it.

I would like to use the product In order to review it… but cannot open it. We’ve tried pressing, turning. Screwdrivers, wrenches. Cannot open it ! How about some instructions,? And I am a product engineer and cannot figure out how to open ! It’s like a sealed vault!

Great product. Just started using this. My only suggestion is change the scent. The tide total scent was amazing. Please bring back that scent or product.

I knew they changed the scent and I did not like the new scent and I had quit buying it Recently I was cleaning out my Dads home and came across an old bottle in the cupboard. Wow what a find, this bottle smelled wonderful even after several years, I used the detergent and my clothes smelled as great as I remembered from years ago. Sure wish they would bring back the old April fresh Scent. It is so frustrating when you are used to using a product for years and they go and change it. Do they even realize how many customers they have alienated when they do this cost-cutting crap?

I bought a bottle of tide with downy recently. Smell is definitely different and I've began to itch, red skin. Old tide with downy worth the price, new tide with downy isn't. Please change it back to how it was.

For the most part, this detergent works well. I think you still need to use a separate fabric softener though. It’s definitely not a replacement for softener. It’s comparably priced as far as laundry detergent goes.

Great scent, clothes always come out clean and smelling fresh. Doesn't matter how dirty or how old the stain is, it will always come out clean.

One of my favorite laundry detergents to use. This Tide detergent is a 2 in 1 product being that it’s combined with Downy fabric softener. It leaves a wonderful scent on clothes, bedding, and any other fabrics I wash and they feel refreshed, clean, and soft.

Tide can be very strong and at times too strong for my skin, but the Tide with downy is better. It has a great scent and isn’t as strong in my opinion. The smell is awesome. I recommend this to those people who love Tide products.

I have been a faithful user for years. I came to this site after googling to see if there had been a recent formula change. I can’t bear the new smell. I have always given my clothes an extra rinse but even with that had to get out of bed and change my nightgown because I could not tolerate the smell. I try to keep a quantity on hand and i guess this was the first load I did with the new product. Really don’t know what to do, I loved the old Tide.

I love Tide and usually get the cold wash but enjoyed this very much. The smell lasts longer and it makes my cloths sooo soft! Tide is the only detergent I buy.

My family has used Tide for years. We loved the Touch of Downy April Fresh smell. It was light and pleasant, and everyone liked it. Now the new scent is horrible. Unfortunately, we have stopped buying it because it caused headaches and breathing problems. Really miss the old Tide we were used to. Please bring back the old scent!!

I was really hoping this would have the same cleaning power of regular tide but it doesn't. I tried pretreating stains and it just didn't work as well as the original tide. The smell is great!

I was floored (like, literally almost fell over from the scent) when the new formula was introduced. Before the change, i had found the perfect laundry detergent--with just a touch of scent. Because it changed, I started using a competitor's unscented brand. I have been trying the separate april fresh scent beads, but they are also too strong, and simply not the same scent. The old Tide with Downy had a very nice scent, and the new version isn't a stronger version of it... it seems totally different and yucky. I still had half a bottle left of the old scent that I have been saving, and on a whim I decided to use some on my laundry detergent recently. It reminded me of how wonderful the old scent was, and how disappointed I am about the change. I have a family of 5 plus a dog, so we do a LOT of laundry. Please find a way to bring back the old product! If people want strong smelling laundry, they should be advised on the label that is it stronger. It is no longer a "touch of downy". The new version announces to everyone who gets close to me that I perfumed up my clothes with heavy detergents. Not the message I want to send.

This detergent does an excellent job at cleaning clothes. It is one of the few detergents that i've tried that removes stain with little work from me. The scent from the bottle and while washing is so lovely. But once I put the clothes in the dryer or leave them to hang dry, the scent is gone. I know the cleaning aspect is what's important from a detergent. But the scent is really important to me as well. I really wish that the scent would stay even a little on my clothes because it truly is a lovely scent.

My sister bought me this as a gift and I'm in love. I live on disability income so I don't buy it for myself. I did however rearranged my budge around Tide w/Downey so now I can buy it, yahoo.

I've used Tide with Downy for YEARS. Several months ago, I brought some home and thought I got a bad batch - it smelled so bad. I literally took it back and to my dismay, found they all smelled like that. I contacted TIDE and they said they did consumer research and have updated the scent. Super bad decision. Remember when Coke changed their formula (New Coke) and we lost our minds about that? That switched it back and all was right with the world. I'm writing this now as my supply of "old" Tide with Downy is just about out and I'm crushed. Tide - be like Coke, go back to the original formulas and scents.

They changed the smell awhile back and I still cannot find a good replacement. New smell is overwhelmingly bad.

The new scent is horrible! I’ve used tide, and now tide with downy for decades, and the new scent is awful. My kids even noticed and asked what had changed, because they don’t like it.

My entire family is complaining. The scent is too strong. THE reason I used to love this product was for the baby soft Downey scent. Now, it STINKS.

They apparently changed the formula. We have used Tide with Downy for years. Suddenly the entire house smells like the detergent. Powerful and overwhelming odor. We will be switching brands.

We've used Tide with Downy for years and loved the fresh smell. Last week I washed clothes with a new bottle of Tide. It smelled so bad I had to get rid of it! Everyone in the family hated it.

I returned a bottle of tide to walmart and questioned if someone switched the soap to a cheap soap. I purchased another tide with Downey and it had the same strong soap smell!

I believe P/G changed scent to cut cost! Smells a lot like the cheaper simply tide detergent, with maybe a hit of downy. IDK. Shame on you P/G!

I LOVE this product! It smells amazing, my clothes are so clean. I use to use Arm and Hammer, and decided to give Tide a try, am I so happy I did. I will have to say you are a bit pricey.

April fresh was the only scent I could use for my migraines. This new scent is terrible. Really upsetting it changed. Please bring back the original April Fresh, or you’ve lost another customer.

Best smelling detergent! Pair it with Downy Clean Breeze, oh my God! Every time I do laundry, folks say my house smells so good. Tide gets clothes clean, but the scent of the Clean Breeze with Downy.

I tried this in the April fresh scent and not only did it get extreme dried stains out of delicate fabric but it smells so fresh and my clothes feel great I am so happy with this product.

So not only does P&G do away with the familiar scent of April Fresh Downy, but now it has altered the formula for the detergent, too. P&G needs to listen to consumers and bring back the "classic" scent of April Fresh Downy, which will then help Tide, too.

Of a norm I prefer a different brand but saw the Downy added and knowing Tide is probably most preferred and purchased I was excited to give it a try! The softness, fresh smell, static control softener gives and best yet not having to buy that extra Downy and take the time to dilute it when putting it in. First load was full of static. :( and really no Downy smell. So having to add Downy anyway to this product made it a no brainer...disappointed.

I've used this detergent before and liked it. I'm currently using the new Tide with Frebreze formulation. I prefer the previous Febreze formulation better, this one is too strong. I'll switch back to Tide with Downy.

I had been purchasing the regular laundry detergent and the fabric softener; but now they make this a 2 in 1 deal so i do not have 2 containers laying around and i don't have to mess with the fabric softener ball! The scent is wonderful, and it lasts a long time; my clothing that has been hung up in my closet for a while still smells fresh and that is what i love!!!

I have been a loyal Tide user for many years, as this is the detergent that my everyone in my family has used for decades. I recently tried the Tide Plus a Touch of Downy and loved it! I normally use regular Tide and Downy separately. This product is very convenient because it has both products combined in one. This product cleans my clothes the same as the other Tide products, but it also has Downy included in the formula so that my clothes come out soft, also. I purchased the HE formula for my front-load washer and have had no problems with over-sudsing. My clothes are coming out clean and soft and they smell very "April Fresh", which I very much enjoy. I especially love using this product to wash bedding and towels, because of the extra softness and freshness it provides them with. I love that this product is offered in the large 138 fl. oz. container, which lasts for a long time. This will definitely be a product I will continue to use! :)

We got the new Tide with Downey when we purchased our new washing machine. We were told we had to use the "he" type of detergent so we bought it where we bought the washer. After I washed our clothes, sheets, tablecloths and towels with the new detergent my husband began complaining saying the smell is unbearable. We recently purchased two new recliners (April 2014) and the smell from the detergent got into the fibers from our clothing and made them smell obnoxious as well. The are currently sitting outside airing out...but my husband still smells the Tide smell. This has been a huge headache for me. Even though I've found a new detergent that has no fragrance there are still a lot of things that we've washed with the Tide in our house. I bought the new washer to save water...I'm not saving water when I have to rewash everything. Some things need two washings to remove the smell. My husband wants to send the chairs back because he can't stand the smell. I hope with all my heart that leaving them in the back yard for a few days helps. I'm really upset about this. I have used Tide all my life and it really feels bad to have this big of a problem with it.

The new scent on the Tide with a Touch of Downy April Fresh is horrible. Why would you change it from the original? I have used Tide for the past 15 years and have always loved it. I loved it even more when you added the Downy to it. I will not be purchasing this product again. Ever. I cannot stand the candy-like sweet smell. Really disappointed.

Your clothes are clean, soft, and smell great. As an added bonus, you don't have to remember the fabric softener. Wrinkles are a thing of the past. I will use Nothing, absolutely Nothing else....
